Rainbow Turtle Doves

Last week I was wandering through Marie's lovely blog at Soft Earth Art and came across this beautiful rainbow bird tutorial.

Waking in the morning to the heavenly chorus of birds is a serene way to start the day. We see many breeds of birds on our farm that flutter and glide through the air. Busy in the day collecting straw from our fields, grass and little twigs from our flamboyant trees to build a soft haven for their nestlings.

A pretty summertime craft to enjoy with the children and embellish our nature table.

This is a beautiful Guardian Angel that I recently purchased from Marie's Etsy store.  Her felting artistry reveals itself in this endearing little picture.  Thank you Marie!

  1. wow jeanene these are great! I have been wanting to start felting badly but alas I am still trying to make some puppets for Freedom I just don't have a whole lot of time with two crazy kids running amuck at my feet.

  4. I love your rainbow birds! I want to try this craft but will be saving it for a rainy day in the winter. My daughter wants to come and live with you, she is horse daft and your farm is her dream!

  5. Hi Kelly, I'm glad you liked the birds, we do these crafts on rainy days because we hardly have a winter. Winter is the nicest time for us. I try to take cover in Summer which is why we planted hundreds of trees. Your daughter is more than welcome to visit. I love to play with my horses. I study Parelli Natural Horsemanship.

  7. Kat, get the biggest sand pit you can have. A truck dump load in your back yard with trees and flowers to decorate a secret garden and your children will be entertained for hours!!

  11. I just took a look around your blog today. Wow! What beauty! You really have a paradise of your own. Your blog is very inspiring. Thanks for stopping by to see my blog. We live just outside a national forest in the western US so we have the benefit of enjoying all the beauty of nature that is has been untouched. I love living among nature and teaching my children how important it is to respect it and to take care of our earth.

I'd like to see more from your blog so I am going to become a follower!!
