We have much to be grateful for here on our farm.

Yucca can be used as you would use potatoes, in soups, for stews, chips, mashed into a puree or as fritters.

  3. I wonder if you can even imagine how this earthly paradise you have found appears to a reader in an Australian suburb listening to the bins being collected outside! Even the title of your post reads like poetry. I think I must have had sugar cane juice once as a child in India because I can almost taste what you have in those big jars - heaven.

  4. What a harvest! My Grandfather used to give us sugar cane sometimes to suck on - so stringy and delicious. The cane juice looks so sweet and pure. Enjoy.

  7. What a beautiful posting. Your photos tell such a lovely story. Sometimes dreams do come true and your sons are reaping the benefits of a joyful life.
Sure would like to try everything. All I have experienced are the clementines that we will soon be buying. They are always orange. Are the green ones sweet also?
    Thank you for sharing....

  10. Look at your little boys at work. It reminds me of that song on seven times the sun: I will work with joy. You can definitely see the purpose and pride in their work and enjoying the clementines. :-)

  11. May I just say that there are few families I know whose boys would handle a blade like that without resulting mayhem? And I'm talking about boys years older than yours. My own grandson? I'd pounce on him the moment he looked at a tool of that caliber. But then again, I know very few families of boys who have worked with horses the way the boys do - or who have spend as much time with their mother, learning to be measured and responsible. It is good.
